>>LAYOUT//about this version

v.7 dareka no negai ga kanau korov.7 dareka no negai ga kanau koro
Unlike the others, this layout really IS done in pure CSS, right down to the images. I spent a long time redoing the organization of the fics as well; since I started this site they've been organized by series, but I decided I wanted something different this time. Now they're organized by genre (drabble, one-shot, series, original). I like seeing everything on one page instead of having to click multiple times to get to a fic.

The design, images, and song come from the movie Casshern, a really great sci-fi movie that came out recently on DVD here in Japan. The movie is based on an older anime, but really has nothing to do with the anime. If nothing else, you should watch it for the really gorgeous CG landscapes and backgrounds, and for the quirks in the plot, which really are very Japanese. The DVD even has English subtitles. XD

Title graphic of Tetsuya, or "Casshern." Song lyrics from Utada Hikaru's Dareka no negai ga kanau koro ("When someone's wish comes true").

v.6 long distance callv.6 long distance call

Inspired by the song of the same name by Buck-Tick, this is my first layout done in almost pure CSS (except divs for the images because divs and images don't get along for me for some reason XD). Telephone image from GettyImages. Side images capped from Tetsu [L'Arc~en~Ciel]'s film in Siesta ~film of dreams~. Not quite sure why I got inspired to make this one, but you must agree it is brighter and a nice change from Gackt.

Then again, I might go back to Gackt in the next layout. Again. He grows on you like that. Like fungus.

v.5 rebirthv.5 rebirth

Uh. Gackt again. ^^;; I just can't get rid of him. You can barely see him in the picture in the left most frame, so I guess it's not as blatantly Gackt-y as two layouts ago. Images from the booklet of his second album Rebirth. Don't ask me why...I was just inspired. The text is from the first song on the album, 4th. Gackt doesn't actually sing in it, but there is an accompanying poem in the lyrics booklet for it, and that's the last line. That's all for now...

v.4 ghostsv.4 ghosts

I finally got sick of Gackt (didn't think that would ever happen). Actually, I didn't really get sick of him...just thought it wasn't really quite fair for him to be up this long. XD The new layout features scenes and characters from Myst series of computer games, by Cyan. I first played Myst about...four years ago? and was hooked from the very beginning. I have both original Cyan computer games, as well as two of the books. The world they created is very rich and beautiful, as well as believable, and the book linking concept is fascinating. Though it's a bit old now and might be called "dated" in the way of graphics, Myst is still worth playing any time, and the same goes for Riven.

The background is the wind tunnel rock formations section of the Selenitic Age from Myst. The two pictures are of Keta, Gehn's wife, and Aitrus, Gehn's father, from Riven. The title of the site is in D'ni script. As I've forgotten all the D'ni I've ever learned, you'll just have to make do with me writing down the titles phonetically in D'ni. Just think of it as katakana ^^

v.3 chasing dreamsv.3 chasing dreams

What a change. First I thought, hey I want to do a Touga/Saionji layout. That would be neat. Then I decided I wanted a Gundam theme, and I even changed the blog to Gundam to match what WOULD become the theme of the site. And then Gackt came out of nowhere begging for a layout...so here he is.

Camui Gackt is the former vocalist of the visual Jrock band Malice Mizer. He's an amazingly talented piano player as well as vocalist, with a beautiful rich voice that sounds like a lower version of L'Arc~en~Ciel's Hyde. He left Malice Mizer to pursue a solo career in 2000. If you haven't heard Gackt sing, I recommend the Malice Mizer song Le Ciel or his solo song Mizerable. If it's his piano playing you're looking for, try the Malice Mizer song Regret.

Lyrics and text from the Glay song Miki Piano. Yeah, yeah I know I'm mixing two bands, but the song was so perfect for this layout...

v.2 something eternalv.2 something eternal

Seeing as Saionji Kyouchi is my absolute favorite character from Shoujo Kakumei Utena, which is one of my obsessive animes of the moment, here's a little tribute to him on my corner of the net world. Saionji seems to be one of those characters that not many people like, but he fascinates me. So there ^^;;

I spent hours combing the net for these few pictures I found of him...poor Saionji. *pats*

Quote on the main picture is from C.S. Lewis' novel The Silver Chair. It's book 4 of the Chronicles of Narnia, which every kid should have read when they were little. If you haven't, you missed out on a really awesome series. The words are quoted by Prince Rillian (who by the way has green hair on the cover of my novel AND is under the control of a witch...coincidence? ^_~) and I think they apply very much to the egotistical boy who happens to grace the pages of this layout.

More power to the Student Council! ^_^

v.1 after, in the darkv.1 after, in the dark

My tiny tribute to the series Macross Plus. The artwork is stunning, the plotline is gripping, and the music is amazing. Not to mention the really awesome scenes with the prototype fighters. ^_^

Virtual idol Sharon Apple graces the front page with her presence, with Isamu Dyson's YF-19 fighter sweeping around her in a trail of smoke. The background of this page is of the YF-19 and YF-21 flying out of a sunset.

Lyrics on all pages from After, In the Dark, Sharon Apple song and ending theme to Macross Plus.
