Quivering beacon on the water's edge
Glaring car headlights and broken glass
And the soft fall of melody
Blind man and young fool
Loved before knowing
Knew too little too late too much
Can we fly away on silver wings?
Soaring high flight into the sunlit horizons
Where love is and sorrows never were?
Young man and blind fool
The green light's a little misty now
And the fountain dried up from the sun
Or perhaps the piano strings are just
Too worn for that kind of music
